The 3M Replacement Shade 5 Visor Blue Chinguard is a swap-in visor for jobs where glare and radiated heat are part of the day, such as gas cutting and furnace work. It is moulded from polycarbonate in either 1mm or 1.5mm thickness and carries a high impact (V) rating, so it stands up to flying particles as well as the shade 5 tint filtering the light.
Coverage extends to liquid and chemical splash along with molten splashes, which makes it a sensible choice around hot metal and decanting work. The blue chinguard keeps the lower face shielded once the visor is fitted to a compatible browguard. Certified to AS/NZS 1336:1997 and AS/NZS 1337.1:2010. Keep a spare on the shelf, because a scratched or pitted visor should be replaced rather than worked around.
