About this product
The Mongoose D-Lite Strop Only 175t is a replacement fibre strop for Mongoose D-Lite soft shackle assemblies, rated at 175t MBL. It is the heaviest-rated size in the range, so it suits the big recovery and heavy lift work where a steel shackle of the same capacity becomes a two-man handling job. At 3.40kg net, it is around 50 percent lighter than conventional steel shackles of comparable strength.
Heat-treated steel components carry the load, and an abrasion-resistant synthetic crown takes the wear at the bearing point. The synthetic body will not corrode or rust, and there is a low risk of explosive disintegration if it is overloaded, which is worth having on a tow or a snatch. This is the strop on its own, not a complete assembly, so match it to your existing hardware. Longer lengths can be arranged on request.
