About this product
The Mongoose D-Lite Shackle 175t is a fibre-crown recovery shackle for heavy vehicle towing, salvage and recovery work where you need serious capacity without the weight of forged steel. It carries a 175t MBL and weighs 11.0kg, roughly half the weight of a conventional steel shackle of similar strength. Body dimensions run 330mm long by 265mm wide, with a 58mm pin and an 88mm bow opening.
The hydrophobic fibre crown holds its strength around tight radius bends, so it works well over recovery points and hooks that would chew into a rigid bow. An integrated locking end cap keeps things together, with a 10 degree off-centre loading limit to observe. High tensile steel alloy pins suit most OEM recovery points. If a shackle does let go, there is far less risk of the explosive disintegration you get with steel.
