The Ergodyne 19864 Squids 3155 Elastic Tool Lanyard with Clamp tethers hand tools up to 5lbs (2.3kg) so they can't drop onto the crew below. It's certified to that 5lbs (2.3kg) maximum capacity with a 2:1 safety factor, and the elastic webbing stretches to soak up the shock if a tool does get away, cutting the dynamic force felt at your body or the anchor point.
The webbing is 1680 denier polyester elastic blend that extends from 38-48in (96-122cm), with 3-ply nylon stitching holding the connecting ends. One end carries an anodised aluminium alloy carabiner with a captive eye, the other a detachable loop and modular connecting buckle so you can swap tools without re-rigging. Low profile and light, so it stays out of the way on towers, scaffold and switchyards. Certified to ANSI/ISEA 121.
