The Scaffold Hook 55mm Gate Aluminium is a connector for clipping a lanyard or harness onto scaffold tube and other large anchor points at height. The 55mm gate opening is the point of it. You can get around sections that a standard karabiner will never fit, and you can do it one handed while you are hanging onto something else.
Built from aluminium, so it sits lighter on the harness than a steel hook of the same size, which matters on a long shift. Finished in blue and steel. Operation is simple enough that gloved hands and cold mornings are not a problem.
