About this product
The Donaghys 12 Strand UHMwPE Soft Shackle in the 100t size is a hand knotted fibre shackle that takes the place of a steel bow or snap shackle on heavy connections. It carries a break load of 109.7 tonnes and comes covered for work in rough conditions. The finished diameter is 68mm with an open length of 1.5m, so there is plenty of room to loop through strop eyes and lifting points. It weighs 4.4kg, which is a fraction of what a metal shackle of similar strength would put in your hands.
Being UHMwPE fibre, it will not rust or corrode, and it stays soft against paint, decking and sling eyes. No pins, no tools, just adjust it and go. If it does fail, it will not shatter and throw steel the way a metal shackle can. The 100t size suits the top end of recovery and connection work and was designed alongside the Donaghys Mongoose Recovery Strop range.
