About this product
The Beaver G80 Eye Shortening Grab Hook 26mm is used to shorten the leg of a chain sling without cutting or re-rating it. This is the heavy end of the range, taking 26mm Grade 80 chain at a working load limit of 21.2t, so it suits big lifts on mine sites and heavy fabrication work. At 9.6kg it has some heft to it, with a 30mm gap, a 44mm d1 and a 34mm d2 across the eye.
The eye at the top connects straight to couplers, shackles or wire rope slings, which makes it easy to build into an existing assembly. Supporting lugs sit either side of the hook so the chain link is not deformed and the WLL is not reduced. Built from heat treated alloy steel and marked for identification, it complies to AS 3776. Keep in mind these hooks are not suitable for tip loading.
