The Beaver G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope Thimble 12mm sits inside a rope eye to stop the wire crushing or chafing where it takes load from a pin or shackle. This is the 12mm wire size in the range, measuring 68mm x 61mm with a 32.5mm C dimension, 18mm at D and 14.5mm at E, and weighing 0.05kg.
It is made from Grade 316 stainless, the marine grade, so it holds up well in salt water and coastal air where plated steel starts to pit. That corrosion resistance also makes it a fit for food and pharmaceutical processing work, along with the usual boat and jetty jobs. Worth noting: this fitting is not to be used for lifting.
