About this product
The Beaver G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope Thimble 8mm sits inside a spliced or swaged eye to stop the rope crushing and chafing where it takes load. This size is cut for 8mm wire rope, with a 51.5mm overall length, 45.5mm across the B dimension, a 23mm C measurement, 12.5mm at D and a 10mm groove at E. It weighs 0.02kg, so it adds next to nothing to a termination.
Made from Grade 316 stainless, the marine grade, it handles salt water and coastal air far better than lesser grades and holds up in harsher corrosive conditions. That makes it a common pick on boats, on jetties and around food and pharmaceutical processing gear. Worth noting, this fitting is not to be used for lifting. Keep it to standing rigging, guys and general rope terminations.
