The 3M Peltor ProTac III Headset is a level-dependent earmuff rated Class 5, SLC80 26 dB, so you get solid noise protection without cutting yourself off from what is happening around you. The built-in level-dependent function passes through ambient sound, so conversations, machine noise and warning signals still come through while harmful noise is knocked down.
Settings are changed through a voice-guided menu, which means the cups stay on your ears while you adjust. A 3.5 mm listen-only stereo input, limited to 82 dB, takes a two-way radio, phone or music player. Auto power off shuts the headset down after four hours of non-use, and a low-battery warning tells you when a change is due. Cups come in slim and regular sizes, in headband or black helmet-attached versions.
