The 3M 6900 Low Maint. Full Facepiece is a reusable full face respirator in the large size, covering the eyes and airways in one unit. The twin filter layout drops breathing resistance and balances the weight either side of the face, so the mask sits evenly instead of dragging forward. Filters clip on through a bayonet system, and it takes the 6000 Series gas and vapour filters, the 2000 Series particulate discs, the 5000 Series particle filters, plus the 6035 and 6038.
At 400 grams the grey facepiece is light enough for long shifts, with a soft silicone nose cup and a harness that pulls down easily for a secure seal. The polycarbonate lens resists scratches and chemicals while giving a wide view, which matters on a mine site or in a confined space. It is built as a low maintenance respirator, so servicing is simple between jobs. Made to AS/NZS 1337:1992. Small is the 6700 and medium is the 6800 if the large does not suit.
