The 3M Gas and Vapour Cartridge 6057 is a bayonet-fit filter cartridge that protects the wearer against organic vapours and acid gases. It bayonet mounts to 3M 6000 and 7000 Series half and full face masks, so if your crew already runs those respirators, this cartridge drops straight on. It covers exposure to solvents along with gases such as chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulphur dioxide, hydrochloric acid and toluene.
Useful anywhere conventional paints are being sprayed or mixed, subject to usage conditions. Common jobs include vehicle, aircraft and boat building work, paint and varnish manufacture, resin and adhesive work, ink and dye handling, plus acid cleaning, metal pickling and etching. Chemical manufacture and handling sites use it too. Match the cartridge to the contaminant you are actually exposed to, and swap it out when breathing resistance climbs or you pick up taste or smell through the mask.
