About this product
The 3M Rolgliss R550 Rescue & Descent is a complete 40m escape kit for getting a worker down from an elevated work area under control. The R550 twin brake descender handles the lowering automatically, so the descent rate stays steady without the user having to manage it. A double action connecting carabiner sits on the housing, and the 9.5mm kernmantle rope lifeline has double action snap hooks on both ends.
Because the unit is bidirectional, you can run multiple rescues one after the other rather than resetting between each one. It is rated for up to 500m of height for one user, or 175m with two on the rope. Construction is high strength and corrosion resistant, and the whole thing is compact enough to stage where you need it. Supplied in a storage and deployment bag, finished in yellow.
