The Black Rat 4WD Nylon Heavy Duty Recovery (Snatch-em) Strap Kit 12t is a complete vehicle recovery set for pulling a bogged 4WD out of sand, mud or a washout. This is the 12,000kg minimum breaking strain version, a step up from the 9t kit for heavier utes, trays and loaded touring rigs. The strap measures 9m x 75mm and is built from heavy duty nylon with a 20% stretch factor, so it loads up and releases its energy into the recovery instead of snapping tight.
A red overload indicator fibre runs through the strap, giving you a visual cue when it has been stretched too far. The kit also takes care of the connection end with two 16 x 22mm bow shackles rated at 4.7t WLL, plus leather safety gloves for handling a wet, gritty strap. It all packs into the carry bag at 4.4kg, so it lives in the back of the vehicle without fuss.
