About this product
The Black Rat 4WD Tree Trunk Protector Strap with Carry Bag gives you a solid anchor point when there is nothing else to hook onto but a tree. It measures 3m long by 75mm wide and is made from polyester webbing, with a minimum breaking strain of 12,000kg. Wrap it around the trunk, join your recovery gear to the eyes, and the load spreads across the bark instead of cutting into it.
At 1.5kg it packs down small, and the carry bag keeps it out of the dirt and away from the tray floor between jobs. Handy for towing and recovery work where you need to reverse out, steer up or drag a vehicle clear of an awkward spot. Check the webbing for cuts, abrasion and fraying before every use, and let it dry before it goes back in the bag.
Common questions
- what is the breaking strain of the black rat tree trunk protector
- It has a minimum breaking strain of 12t, or 12,000kg. That figure is a breaking strain, not a working load limit.
- how long is the black rat tree trunk protector strap
- The strap is 3m long and 75mm wide, which gives you enough length to wrap most trunks and still join to your recovery gear.
- what is a tree trunk protector used for in 4wd recovery
- It wraps around a tree to create an anchor point for tying off or pulling a vehicle out, spreading the load so the strap does not bite into the trunk. Handy when you need to reverse, steer up or pull clear of a tight spot.
