About this product
The Black Rat 4WD Towing Kit 12t is a 4m polyester towing strap for pulling a bogged or stranded vehicle clear. It carries a minimum breaking strain of 12,000kg, so there is plenty of margin behind a loaded 4WD on soft sand or a churned up track. The strap has around a 30% stretch factor, letting you take up the load gradually rather than snatching it hard.
An elasticised retention cord keeps the strap tidy when it is not in use, and the whole kit packs into a vinyl carry bag at 3.5kg, light enough to live in the back of a ute or tray. Polyester webbing handles water and grit well and stays flexible in the cold. Check the webbing for cuts, abrasion and stitching damage before every recovery, and keep the strap away from sharp edges and tow ball hitches.
