About this product
The Black Rat 4WD Polyester Winch Extension Straps 4t x 10m gives you another 10 metres of reach when your winch cable won't quite make the anchor point. It's built from 50mm black polyester webbing with a minimum breaking strain of 4,000kg, and both ends are protected where the strap takes the wear from shackles and hooks.
The 10m length is the middle ground in the range, long enough to reach a tree or second vehicle without the bulk of a longer strap. At 1.35kg it packs down small enough to live in the recovery kit permanently. Polyester has very little stretch under load, so it suits winching and static pulls rather than snatch recoveries. Check the webbing for cuts, fraying and abrasion before every use.
Common questions
- what is the breaking strain of the black rat 10m winch extension strap
- It has a minimum breaking strain of 4t, or 4,000kg. That is a breaking strain, not a working load limit.
- what is a winch extension strap used for
- It extends your winch cable when the cable is too short to reach the anchor point, giving you an extra 10 metres of reach on this size.
- can you use a polyester winch extension strap as a snatch strap
- No. Polyester webbing has minimal stretch, so this strap is made for winching and towing or recovery pulls, not the elastic snatch action.
