The Beaver Commercial Galvanised Wire Rope Thimbles 28mm sit inside a spliced or swaged eye to stop the rope crushing and wearing against a shackle or pin. The groove is sized for 28mm wire rope, the heaviest end of the Beaver commercial thimble range, so it suits the big static rope work where smaller sizes simply won't seat properly.
Galvanised finish gives it a fair bit of resistance to weather and damp, which matters on outdoor rigging and yard jobs. Keep in mind these are commercial thimbles and are not suitable for lifting, so use them on non-lifting rope terminations only. Check the thimble matches your rope diameter before splicing, and replace any that have spread, cracked or worn thin in the bearing area.
