About this product
The Beaver Commercial Galvanised Wire Rope Thimble in 16mm is a shaped liner that sits inside a rope eye to stop the wire crushing or kinking where it takes load. This is the 16mm size in the range, matched to 16mm wire rope, so it suits the heavier commercial ropes used on fencing, guy lines, rigging screws and general tie-back work.
The galvanised finish gives it a bit of protection against rust when the eye is left outdoors. Fit it before you swage or clamp, and make sure the rope seats fully in the groove so the thimble cannot work loose under tension. One thing to be clear on, these thimbles are not suitable for lifting. If the eye is going into a lifting application, you need a rated thimble instead.
