About this product
The Beaver Commercial Galvanised Wire Rope Thimbles 8mm sit inside a spliced or swaged eye to stop the rope crushing and wearing against a shackle pin or anchor point. The groove is sized for 8mm wire rope, so it's the one to grab when you're terminating 8mm strand rather than the lighter 4mm and 6mm sizes in the range.
Galvanised finish gives it reasonable resistance to weather on outdoor rigs, fencing work, guy lines and general tie-down jobs. Worth being clear on one point: these are commercial thimbles and they are not suitable for lifting, so keep them out of any load-bearing sling or crane application. Match the thimble to the rope diameter properly. An undersized or oversized eye lets the rope shift under tension and chew itself out early.
