The Beaver Commercial Galvanised Wire Rope Thimbles 5mm sit inside a rope eye to stop the wire crushing or chafing where it takes load. This size is matched to 5mm wire rope, the lighter end of the range, so it suits fencing runs, guy wires, balustrade cable and general tie-back work rather than heavy lines.
The galvanised finish gives the steel some protection against rust when the rope is working outdoors or getting wet. Fit the thimble into the eye, then close it off with a swage or wire rope grips to keep the groove seated properly. One thing to be clear on: these are commercial thimbles and are not suitable for lifting. If the rope is going to carry a suspended load, use rated lifting gear instead.
