The Beaver Grade L Galvanised Short Link Chain 16mm is a tested commercial chain for mooring and anchor work, not for lifting. At 16mm it is the heaviest end of the range, carrying a working load limit of 2.58t with a 54.8mm outside length and 47.8mm inside width across the link. It is made from Grade 30 low carbon steel and complies with the requirements of AS 2321.
The galvanised finish handles saltwater exposure and general outdoor knock-about, which is why this chain turns up on boat moorings and anchor rodes. Short link means the pitch is tight, so it feeds through gypsies and sits compactly when stowed. Weight works out to 17.5m per 100kg, handy when you are planning a run. If the job involves lifting, step up to a rated lifting grade chain instead.
