About this product
Beaver Proof Coil Chain Long Link in 5mm self colour is a general purpose commercial chain for restraint, fencing, gates and light tie-down work around the yard or site. It is the lightest size in the long link range, so it suits jobs where you want chain you can handle easily and thread through small gaps. The 5mm material sits in a link measuring 29.3mm long by 21.8mm wide, giving plenty of open space for hooks, shackles and padlocks.
Made from low carbon steel with a self colour finish, this chain is non-rated. It carries no working load limit and must never be used for lifting or overhead work. If that is the job, step across to a graded lifting chain. The term proof coil simply refers to the consistent link count through the length, which keeps the chain running evenly. Self colour has no protective coating, so keep it out of the weather or give it a wipe of oil if it is going to sit outside.
