About this product
Beaver Proof Coil Chain Regular Link in 6mm self colour is a general purpose commercial chain for restraint, fencing, gates, barriers and light utility work around the yard or site. At 6mm material size it sits at the lighter end of the range, so it stays easy to handle and feed through eyes and shackles while still holding its shape. Link geometry is consistent through the length, with 24mm across the link and 27mm link pitch, which is what the proof coil name refers to.
Made from low carbon steel with a self colour finish, so there is no galvanising to cover it. Keep it out of wet or corrosive conditions, or give it a wipe of oil if it is going to sit outside. This chain is non-rated and carries no working load limit. It must not be used for lifting, slinging or overhead work. If the job involves a load off the ground, step up to a rated grade lifting chain instead.
Common questions
- is beaver proof coil chain rated for lifting
- No. Proof coil chain is non-rated and is for general purpose use only, so it must not be used for any lifting application.
- what does proof coil mean on chain
- Proof coil refers to the number of consistent links in any one length, meaning the link size and pitch stay uniform along the chain.
- what is self colour chain and will it rust
- Self colour means the chain is left as bare low carbon steel with no protective coating, so it can surface rust if left in damp conditions. A light coat of oil helps if it is stored or used outdoors.
